CARES was created because we saw a need in the community that wasn't being met. We talked to a lot of people & families who needed assistance with navigating the resources of the State & City. There were a lot of students who were getting into fights and doing bad things because they didn't get an opportunity to get resources for their community.

CARES is the advocacy & education branch of our organization connecting people with essential resources. Located in Kalihi, Hawaii, we have witnessed many health disparities & socio-economic disadvantages of the different cultures and people groups in underprivileged neighborhoods. We serve in low-income communities and we outreach to impoverished families.

 

In our work, we have discovered that even with all the equitable opportunities provided by the City & State, "equity" is still something far beyond reach for a lot of people. CARES' mission is to create the fairness & equality of opportunity for the people. We bridge the gap between the community & resources while addressing barriers to access. We help people navigate while providing outstanding care.
