Abour our afterschool program
CARES is registered with the Hawaii Afterschool Alliance's out-of-school programs database. CARES’ mission is to train, empower & equip the next generation with the skills & resources they’ll need to become successful & healthy adults who will contribute in positively to society. We are developing in a small afterschool class with a special focus in the arts. The CARES program works with a small team of students from DOE public schools, private schools, churches & homeschools. CARES provides art education to our community by getting our students opportunities to be in art competitions. We also provide crafts, painting & drawing instruction for the students while facilitating their growth as they learn about creative expression.

Our goal for CARES art class is to provide youths with a safe & supervised place to go to afterschool or during spring, summer, fall & Christmas. The program strengthens youth's resistance to risky behavior, drugs, and school failure through fun activities. We implement Social Emotional Learning strategies, community engagement & social development.
